Using the Life Sciences Data Archive as an Educational Tool

Effective data management is necessary to maximize the science output from NASA missions. Such data managemnet provides scientists the ability to locate and access data, as well as information required to make the data useful. The management of life sciences data is beign coordinated by the Life and Biomedical Sciences and Applications Division (LBSAD) Life Sciences Data Archive (LSDA). NASA has several reasonsfor building this archive, one of which is to provide better access to data, general information and results of NASA-sponsored life sciences investigations. The archive will also provide a central respsitory of space life sciences data, and when mature, will provide access to data and information for future experiment planning and retrospective data analysis.
