The Fly-By-Wire (FBW) and Electronic Flight Control System (EFCS) of modern Aircraft (AC) can display various types of failures, those leading to oscillations of one or more control surfaces belong to the most severe ones. This paper suggests an Oscillatory Failure Identification System (OFIS) tailored to detect oscillatory failure cases (OFC) and thus providing the basis for counteraction and recovery of safety. Methods are based on Fault Sensitivie Filters (FSF), Kalman Filter, Detection of Resonance Phenomena and Adaptive Signal Processing.
