Reactions provoked by a charged particle product of a neutron-induced reaction, popularly known as sequential reflections, could make substantial contribution to induced radioactivity, in certain situations, in a fusion reactor environment. The role played by these reactions, in inducing additional radioactivity in various materials, of direct relevance to fusion power development, e.g., silicon carbide and other structural materials, beryllium, and lithium bearing materials, has been looked at. It is shown that whereas production of /sup 26/Al (half life=0.72 My) through sequential reactions in silicon carbide, with and without impurities, is of little concern, production of /sup 7/Be in lithium bearing materials can not be overlooked.
