A bit-by-bit detector for partial-response reception on digital magnetic recording channels

摘要

A bit-by-bit detector for partial-response reception on digital magnetic recording channels is described. The detector uses internal noise whitening to approach the performance of the Viterbi detector at much smaller complexity and latency.
