The CDMA digital cellular system-an ASIC overview

A code division multiple access (CDMA) standard has been proposed to compete for the next generation of digital cellular telecommunications. The paper describes the CDMA system, gives an overview of some of the basic principles of the system, and how that system has been partitioned into custom ASICs.
