Long-period fiber gratings are promising components as gainequalizers for erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, band rejection filters andsensors. It has been reported that these devices have a high temperaturesensitivity, typically 0.05 nm/° C at room temperature. Judkins etal., showed a method to eliminate the temperature sensitivity byoptimizing the refractive-index profile of the host fiber.
