Transmitting high-quality live video from the fieldno longer only depends on expensive satellite equipment.Today, broadcasters can rely on portable uplink systems toprovide broadcast-quality video via terrestrial wirelessnetworks including 4G LTE/3G, Wi-Fi and WiMAX. Thistechnology provides mobility and flexibility along withincreased performance. The challenge is guaranteeingquality of service over unreliable and saturated cellularnetworks. This paper will discuss how the latest developmentin bonded technology meets this challenge, achieving a“satellite-like” experience, and enabling any videoprofessional to create and webcast their content live fromany location using a small, lightweight and compact device.Broadcast and online media have a common need for anaccessible and reliable product for high-quality, real-timevideo transmission. The paper will present the buildingblocks of the technology and demonstrate how portableuplink solutions are changing the workflow, enablingreliable and resilient transmission from a wide variety ofscenarios.
