The internet is already a major player inadvertising and unicast streaming video on the internet isgrowing rapidly. However, there are real limits to scalingup suitable broadband resources to accommodate today'savailable broadcast video content. By employingtechnologies such as deep packet inspection, internetservice providers can partner with broadcast videoservice providers to realize the best of both forms ofpathways to the home. By linking broadcast content andadvertising to research, analytics, and interactiveresponse gleamed from internet traffic; the value ofbroadcast advertising can be increased withoutexhausting broadband internet resources.
