Modern techniques of laser material processingrequire not only simple homogenizing of a beam butalso more freedom in manipulation of intensityprofile and generating such profiles like super-Gaussian, inverse-Gaussian; and controllable varyingof the intensity profile allows to "adjust" a particularmaterial processing technology, improve it or makemore efficient. These tasks can be successfully solvedwith using the field mapping refractive beam shapingoptics like πShaper which operational principlepresumes saving of beam consistency, collimated lowdivergent output beam, high transmittance, extendeddepth of field. Varying of the input beam diameterlets it possible to realize either super-Gaussian(smaller input) or inverse-Gaussian (bigger input)intensity profiles of output beam. All variety ofprofiles can be provided by the same beam shaperunit. There will be considered in the paper the designbasics of refractive beam shapers and techniques tovary the output intensity profile, experimental resultswill be presented as well.
