In Romania, more than 100 Small Hydropower Plants-SHP need some improvements and rehabilitation as an answer to their role in the local community. Proper management correlated with the local, specific conditions assures a short time in recovery of the initial investment. In the beginning is analyzed the efficiency of the existent infrastructure, in the current economic context, considering the local communities, private investors, social communities, and authorities. The analysis is extended with the main factors that influence the optimum conditions in the rehabilitation of the selected SHP, correlated with the local conditions. All these parameters are introduced as input-data in the numerical modeling, briefly presented. The optimal solution obtained for design and rehabilitation, followed by the Energy Demand Site Management-EDSM are also mentioned. Some of the obtained results for the selected area will highlight the efficiency of the proposed solution, associated with the real benefits of the combined tasks. Finally, some conclusions and references are mentioned.
