This paper presents modified control laws for accommodating magnetizing and demagnetizing inductances in an LC single-phase converter with division-summation (D-Σ) processes to improve current tracking performance. Conventionally, the magnetizing and demagnetizing inductances are considered identical over a switching cycle. Therefore, only is nominal inductance from the manufacturer’s datasheet taken into account in deriving the control laws for current tracking in converters. However, in this work, it has shown that with a switching frequency of 100 kHz, powder core inductor obtains varying inductance. The range of variation between the inductances of magnetization and demagnetization depends nonlinearly on many aspects. However, in this paper a simple model of inductance estimation is proposed. It has shown that with the accommodation of significant inductance difference over a switching cycle, it is possible to improve the tracking performance of the current control system.
