The cold stress leads to significant changes in physiological parameters, such as membranes permeability, the content of free proline and malonic dialdehyde (MDA), and violates the activity of the photosynthetic system. There is a significant oscillation in the manifestation of antioxidant system (AOS) components under the influence of lower temperatures: peroxidase (PER), superoxidedismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT). Have been showed that the content of proline and MDA in A. sativa increased significantly in comparison with the control plants; at the same time, the content of chlorophylls gradually decreased with increasing duration of stress factor in both studied species. It was determined that PER, SOD and CAT activity significantly increased under stress in A. nuda plants, which testifies to the higher adaptive threshold of this species.
