In recent years, flexible HVDC transmission technology gradually matures currently, which can not only achieve large capacity and long distance transmission, but also can maximize the use of renewable energy. However, the DC grid has less degrees of freedom than AC grid which restricts its power flow control ability. The DC power flow controller can effectively solve the problem of insufficient freedom of power flow control in DC grid, which is important for maintaining the safe and stable operation of the AC/DC hybrid system. There are several types of DC power flow controller, different power flow controller have different effects on DC grid. This paper studies the power flow calculation method of the DC grid with interline DC power flow controller. Firstly, this paper analyzes the working principle of the interline DC power flow controller. Then, deriving the methods of power flow calculation based on the traditional Newton-Raphson iteration. Finally, building a model in PSCAD for simulation and comparing the calculated results with the simulation results to verity the correctness of the method.
