The AC/DC hybrid microgrid with Power Electronic Transformers (PET) is regarded as a promising solution for distributed renewable energy consumption. This paper proposes a network planning method based on the structural morphology of the AC/DC hybrid microgrid with PET. This method is divided into two steps. Firstly, the equipment in the planning area is partitioned by access type, voltage level, geographic location. Then, the network planning model is established considering the constraints of the PET port and topological constraints of backbone and sub networks. The case study show that the planning result obtained by the method proposed in this paper can enhance the island operation capability of the microgrid and the new energy consumption capacity, while effectively reducing the complexity of the grid structure and control costs, because this planning algorithm takes into account the layered access requirements of the DGs and the complementary adjustment ability of the PETs.
