The interest in utilizing wireless communications for implanted scenarios using ultra-wideband (UWB) is increasing because this technology can offer a high data rate transmission while consuming low power thus can help to improve the standard for wireless implanted communications. Nevertheless, extensive validations are required to confirm the viability and reliability of the communication links before actual implementations. In this work, the transient domain characteristics of the UWB channel for liver-implant environment are presented. Numerical simulations were performed using a digital male model. Pulse fidelity was extracted from simulated data. The pulse fidelity is more than 70% suggesting the feasibility of using the considered wireless telemetry system for transplanted liver monitoring. Consequently, this also indicates the reliability of system performance for the considered communication scenario using UWB technology. This work aims at accommodating the tasks related to the wireless communication system design for implant medical telemetry applications.
