In this paper, through the systematic summary, we build a BIM application architecture based on cloud computing, combined with the current situation and shortcomings of BIM application in the field of construction, and put forward the key technologies of the implementation of the architecture. In view of the key issues such as data interoperability, data management, data integration and data response, a complete data integration and management theory and technical system for BIM application of multi participants in the whole life of the building is formed. The application of specific engineering examples is verified to realize the integration, sharing and service of the information model of water conservancy and Hydropower Engineering in each stage. The research results show that the scheme can realize the transmission and sharing of BIM data of all participants in the project in the distributed environment based on cloud computing, which provides the ownership management and consistency guarantee mechanism of distributed data, and explores the feasible theory, method and technology for the collaborative BIM application of multi participants in the whole life of the building.
