Plasma vortex rings in atmospheric pressure air are a poorly understood phenomenon. The large lifetime makes it possible to consider them as a high-efficient open source of optical radiation. The article presents the results of a study of the temperature and radiative characteristics of plasma vortex rings formed during pulsed injection of electric explosive plasma jets. A brightness pyrometry technique is used to study temperature fields. An analysis of the geometry of the vortex ring and the recorded temperature fields makes it possible to determine the emissivity of such structures and their true temperature
