Analysis of Multiple Access Approaches on IoT via LEO Satellite

摘要

The low-orbit satellite Internet of Things (IoT) is an important part of the terrestrial Internet of Things system. Low-orbit satellite Internet of Things unlike terrestrial Internet of Things system has wide and high coverage under a single beam. However, due to the problems which arises when a large number of terminals want to gain access to the network at the same time, and in order to ensure reliable communication of all terminals, data conflicts and time delays must be reduced. These requirements greatly affect the design of the multiple access protocol for low-orbit satellites and therefore, there must be a high-reliability multiple access protocol for mass connections. This paper mainly studies and analyzes the existing multiple access protocols used in satellite communications, and puts forward a prospect for the design of multiple access methods for low-orbit satellite IoT.
