The compressed air energy storage(CAES) system can participate in the primary frequency modulation of the power grid during the two stages of power generation and energy storage, but how to carry out a primary frequency modulation performance test has not yet been reported in relevant studies. The continuous output signal generator and multi-channel multi-range signal acquisition device are developed by analyzing the primary frequency modulation function of CAES in two stages. The primary frequency modulation performance of the compressed air energy storage system on the power generation side and the power consumption side was comprehensively tested by constructing a test system with a switch and developing static and dynamic test methods.
