In this paper document, the continuous cooling transformation behavior of a 1000MPa ultra high strength hydropower steel was studied by thermal simulation test, in order to provide reference for the rolling process control of ultra high strength hydropower steel. The results show that there is only bainite transformation region during the continuous cooling process. When the cooling rate is low, the microstructure is mainly granular bainite with a small amount of ferrite and the hardness of microstructure is only about 270HV. With the increase of cooling rate, the ferrite disappears, the microstructure transforms from fully granular bainite to lath bainite, and the hardness of microstructure also increases. When the cooling rate is above 10°C/s, the microstructure is all lath bainite, and the hardness of microstructure also reaches a maximum of about 360HV.
