摘要

The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (District) processes wastewater at two different water reclamation facilities: The Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility (JIWRF) and the South Shore Water Reclamation Facility (SSWRF). The biosolids collected from both plants are thickened, dewatered and then heat dried, creating about 48,000 tons of product annually. The heat dried product is sold as a commercial fertilizer called Milorganite. Milorganite has consistently met all requirements as a class A biosolid since the USEPA implemented the 503 Biosolids Rule.
