Agile is a development-centric methodology increasingly used in software companies developed by programmers to give them control over their working environment. Instead of project leaders and arbitrary delivery dates, Agile allows the teams that do the actual work to control and determine how and when that work is done. A smoothly running Agile development environment provides predictability based on proven metrics, allowing companies to accurately set delivery expectations and timing. Since Agile empowers all team members, it also empowers technical communicators by ensuring they can participate fully in all aspects of product development.
