Our data so far highlight the feasibility of chemically conjugating HA with antioxidants while preserving the protective function of the selected drugs. We anticipate that the results of our ongoing experiments will support our hypothesis that HA conjugation with antioxidants can protect inner ear specific cells by synergistically reducing inflammation, oxidative stress and by enhancing the drug's permeability across the RMW. The generated data will be used to inform future in vivo studies in representative preclinical models.
