We study and compare performance of PS-QAM formats (SE=3.6–8.6b/s/Hz) and CM-APSK formats (SE=4.8–8.8b/s/Hz) with hybrid shaping. We show that CM performs slightly better than PS formats in back-to-back and transmission with our hardware and implemented FEC. Similar NLC benefit is observed for both format.
