STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF A FRAMEWORK TO APPLY PROCESS MINING TECHNIQUES IN SCAMPI ASSESSMENTS

Process assessment methods typically use the following approaches to collect information about processes in an organization: questionnaires, document review, interviews and demonstrations. It is possible to note that existing processes assessment methods, such as SCAMPI-Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement), do not use contemporary data analysis techniques like processes mining, text mining or data mining. Process mining is one technique that can be used to aid process assessments, aiming to conduct assessments with greater coverage and reliability, while keeping lower costs and efforts. The purpose of this paper is to propose structure and content of a framework to apply process mining techniques in SCAMPI assessments. As conclusion, although the framework proposed here is under development, a well-structured framework that guides application of process mining techniques in SCAMPI method is clearly needed and urgent demanded.
