Using the Evolutionary Computation Approach in the Initial Phase of Protocol Discovering

摘要

The paper presents the method of identifying the initial pool of request-response pairs for Active Protocol Discoverer. This method is suitable for the bottom-up form of protocol discovering, in which the samples of requests are generated, and the high order form (e.g. grammar) of protocol description is created on the basis of these samples. The method is based on the evolutionary computation approach similar to linear genetic programming, in which particular requests are treated as individuals (programs) with different lengths.
