This work presents and analyzes a low cost three-phase active rectifier performance operating as an active power filter in harmonic mitigation. It consists of three level structure composed only by six active semiconductors switches which implies in a good voltage and current quality and lower costs. However due to its simplicity the converter power flow cannot be reversed to the grid. Besides it has been shown the converter operation with an adjustable power factor with either lagging or leading angles. An important feature of this structure is that the dc rated current is not affected or limited by neither the power factor or harmonic compensations. Simulation results show the AC-DC conversion process along with the rectifier operation in harmonic mitigation.
