The paper analyses trajectories of Induction Motor (IM) Indirect Field Oriented Control (IFOC) drive under operational constraints by representing model equations as conic sections in dq plane. By this, operating point trajectory is created by calculating intersection points of drive limits (voltage, current and break down slip) or different control strategies, e.g. Maximum Torque Per Ampere (MTPA) strategy. The approach is illustrated by set of computer simulations and experiments on low voltage IM IFOC drive with MTPA strategy used in battery supplied electric vehicle.
