This paper presents a novel use of the Invasive Weed Optimisation algorithm: to quickly locate GPS jammers using a small, low power, low cost system. GPS jammers are often used by criminals and as such, there is a requirement from law enforcement agencies for such a system. In this paper a small, two element antenna array is used with a low power, digitally controlled beamformer. An Invasive Weed Optimisation algorithm controls the beamformer to find the Angle of Arrival of a GPS jamming signal from a real jammer. The system is able to determine the angle of arrival of the jamming signal in less than half the time required for a full exhaustive sweep.
