The field test for these has not been implemented regularly due to lacking simple and feasible method. This paper proposed a novel field test method for DC protection equipment of HVDC by secondary signal simulating with low security risk and low cost. It is not need to remove the equipment and explain the photoelectric conversion protocol. The field test device for DC protection equipment of HVDC has been developed. This device has secondary signal simulation ability of optical current transformer and zero flux current transformer. The field test device for DC protection equipment of HVDC has been developed with secondary signal simulation ability of optical current transformer and zero flux current transformer. Its validity was verified by field testing of DC protection equipment in Jiangling-Echeng ±500kV HVDC project. This project has been in operation more than ten years.
