Concurrency in the database system is a common feature of a multi-user environment in which several transactions simultaneously access a shared common resource or data. Concurrency can have a negative effect on a database if it is not controlled effectively and efficiently. The two main concurrency control mechanisms can be classified as pessimistic or optimistic. The temporary database system is different from ordinary database systems and requires a special approach for controlling concurrency. Many concurrency control algorithms have been proposed in the past, but they lacked the performance aspect and were found unsuitable for the temporal database environment. This paper presents the JAG_TDB_CC (JAG Temporal Database Concurrency Control algorithm) algorithm suitable for a temporary database system capable of handling conflict situations without compromising the overall database performance. During the study, various performance measures are considered for evaluation: active sessions, CPU utilization, memory usage, I/O activity.
