Due to the increasing shortage of satellite spectrum resources, the problem of “false exhaustion” of resources has gradually appeared, but the spectrum utilization rate of the communication system is very low, so the spectrum utilization rate of the satellite network must be improved. Cognitive satellite communication is believed to be able to solve this problem. This paper briefly describes the basic principles of cognitive radio, introduces the application scenarios of cognitive satellite communication, summarizes and analyzes the current research status of spectrum sensing and spectrum allocation and power control. Finally, the paper prospects the next research direction.
