Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Edge Computing have become key technologies to support flexible scheduling of resources and guarantee service QoS in IoT-based smart grid. Network operators provide users with low-latency, highly reliable network services by placing an ordered set of Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) in edges cloud network. Due to the chaining nature and distributed placement, the failure of a single VNF will directly affect the normal operation of the service. But the existing redundancy backup scheme ignores the QoS requirements and resource sharing. In this paper, we propose a reliability-based and QoS-aware service redundancy backup method in edge clouds. The algorithm considers the sharing of backup network functions and the QoS requirements of services, and maximizes the cost of sharing resources while selecting the backup solution with the delay and reliability. Simulation experiments show that our algorithm can get a backup solution in a shorter time, and greatly reduce the cost while meeting the QoS requirements of the service.
