An Early Warning Model for Damage of Power Grid under Typhoon Disaster

The power transmission and transformation equipment in the developed areas such as the southeast coast of China is vulnerable to the impact of summer typhoons. However, few people combine typhoon wind speed and precipitation with information of power grid equipment, and give early warning of damage to power grid equipmentin. In this paper, an early warning model for damage of power transmission and transformation equipment under typhoon disasters is established based on Support Vector Machine (SVM). The influencing factors most closely related to damage of power transmission and transformation equipment in typhoon disasters are screened by Partial Mutual Information (PMI). The selected factors are taken as input variables of SVM, and the warning information of damage of power transmission and transformation equipment in typhoon disasters is finally obtained. The results show that the model has an accuracy rate of more than 95% when predicting the damage of power transmission and transformation equipment in typhoon disaster. And the application of the early-warning model can provide accurate, efficient prediction and decision-making information for the safety of power transmission and transformation equipment in power grid.
