Renewable Energy Powered Electrification in Uttar Pradesh State

摘要

Due to the increase in industrialization for the various development programs energy crisis is being faced by many developing countries like India. If this is increased, the energy supplied from thermal based power plants causes environment concern and high cost of generation. India is endowed with these resources, which are both viable and economically exploitable. The small scale power generation near the consumer premises is receiving much attention in the recent years for its use in remote and rural communities because of the cost and complexity which is involved in the grid extension. India is currently the third largest producer of electricity in the world. India is the first country to set up a ministry for the non-conventional energy resources. Many of the Indian states show progressive development in RES' programs, but few of the state yet lagging behind due to many issues that need to be avoided. Similar kind of challenges is observed in Uttar Pradesh state, inspite of the fact that the state has dedicated Renewable energy board and abundant RES potential. Consequently, this paper has been focused on the efforts to analyze the current status, challenges and various renewable energy policies implemented in Uttar Pradesh state of India to promote renewable energy.
