In this period of research and innovation, Internet of things (IoT) occupies a noticeable part in the advancement of utilizations in different fields like education, agriculture, health, shrewd urban areas, homes, farming, and so on. This paper gives a review on the IoT environment. All the segments of IoT and their noteworthiness has been expounded. This research work has been initiated by giving an outline of the IoT and its devices. This paper will additionally talk about the range of IoT technologies, IoT ecosystem and its components with a brief discussion on various IoT protocols. At last, it presents the advantages of Internet of Things [IoT].
