Multicriteria analysis of different water desalination technologies and positioning of the Seawater Greenhouse technology

The World Resources Institute's report (2015), relating to the situation of water resources in 167 countries, places Morocco in the 19th position on the 33 most threatened countries by water stress in the world by 2040. Indeed, Morocco is likely to suffer from soon, with water availability decreasing from 3500 m3/person/year in 1960 to 1000 m3 in 2000 and it was expected to fall again to 490 m3 in 2020, below the level of absolute water scarcity of the United Nations. This has led Morocco to adopt the national water management strategy which focuses on integrated water resources management and which aims, by 2020, to mobilize an additional volume of water of 6.4 billion m3/year, i.e. 25% of the country's total annual resources and more than 6 times the current non-renewable resources. Achieving this goal is planned through the realization of different solutions in different parts, of which 31% by the production of 400 million m3/year of water by desalination of seawater and demineralization of brackish water. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to carry out a multicriteria analysis aimed at classifying the different methods of water desalination by a sample of well-chosen people, using the matrix method and via the PROMETHEE software.
