Technology Enabled Pathways for a Waste Free Village

摘要

Today, the world is moving towards clean and renewable sources of energy and solutions which simultaneously tackle the existing environmental problems. One such problem is the management of the various forms of waste generated. Rural Villages are an abundant source of cow dung or gobar. which is a valuable resource in terms of sustainable energy. The purpose of the study is to understand the potential in its ability to generate energy in order to provide a clear cooling source. Study also focuses on its role as waste management tool. Ethnographic participatory study methods were used to understand the waste management challenges in the village. Through this study, a design for a waste management system to accumulate and process the household gobar waste is incorporated. The development of such a system in village will provide insights into development of systems with dual objectives of energy and waste management.
