The paper presents a study of the real problem that concern too large and too quickly occurring deformations in the side walls of the basket operating in a furnace for heat treatment. Based on the results of the conducted simulation analysis, it has been found that the source of the deformation is too rigid connection of the side walls of the basket with its base. To cope with this problem, undercuts were made in the side wall pillars, and then the geometrical stability of the basket was checked under production conditions. Asked for his opinion, the user has confirmed that the redesign significantly reduced the deformation rate of the side walls during operation and improved the reliability and durability of the basket, which means that it has fulfilled its task correctly.
