In this study, we optimized the design shape considering the molten metal flow of the production die casting. First, we carried out an optimum design analysis without considering molten metal flow in the product, then, we conducted actual experiments using the gating system design derived by optimization, which revealed the importance of considering the molten metal flow in the product. Next, we adopted the average value of the entrained-air volume ratio calculated by the CFD simulator as the evaluation value, thereby deriving a scheme to prevent air entrainment defects by optimization. The optimization process performed with consideration of the part's molten metal flow showed good results for air entrainment defects.
