摘要

Oceanic islands are among the first and likeliest venues to feel the effects of extreme weather such as those resulting from climate change and in those venues the effects are most likely to be severe. The costs of direct health care are estimated to sum to between 2 and 4 billions per year for the period 2018-2030 excluding the costs of effects to agriculture, water and sanitation while reducing environmental risks including those due to climate change would save more than a quarter of the 5.9 million children under 5 who die each year.(WHO 2017, WHO 2018).
