The Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD) method is known for its use in multidisciplinary development of highly complex engineering products and concepts. In this study, the IPPD method and its steps are utilized for a conceptual design of an unmanned autonomous vehicle with a ring-shaped configuration for facilitated docking and inducted charging. A concept that can have different applications is primarily based on the conceptual project being developed at the Georgia Institute of Technology that aims to create a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Mars Exploration that features a hands-free docking and charging capability. For that capability to exist, it is important to include the IPPD method in its design phase and follow its steps for multidisciplinary development. The work was developed in the Systems Engineering level of conceptualization and Design phase.
