Application of low voltage DC is getting importance due to technological advancement of power electronics and low cost associated with it. In this aspects dc micro grid unit with power electronics interfacing is playing vital role. To supply power to AC mains networks most of the generators require power invertors which are not cost effective, even where the power may ultimately be delivered to a DC device. A possible solution of this is to install a DC network linking DC devices to DC power supplies but with such networks electrical losses will be higher, transmitting a fixed amount of power as low voltage DC, rather than higher voltage AC. In present work, a cascaded high gain boost converter with solar PV enabled microgrid system is proposed and performance of the converter is discussed in the constraints of low voltage output of PV system. It will step up the voltage level from the photovoltaic array of 19 volt to the level of 380V, suitable for DC Micro-grid applications.
