A paper presents concept of a PCM heat accumulator, which will match the needs of coal or gas power unit for flexibility. Two concepts of accumulator integration are presented. In the second part, the issue of choosing the PCM material for accumulator is discussed. The results of DSC-DTA studies for two metal alloys (having composition 65%A1 35%Mg and 23%A1 8%Mg 69%Si) are presented and compared with the concept of using them as potential PCM layer material.
