The functional groups such as alkyl and hydroxyl groups can significantly reduce the release temperature of corresponding products The effect of hydroxyl groups is dramatically stronger than that of alkyl groups Both the effects of alkyl groups and hydroxyl groups are related to the nature of the coal sample, and the influence of functional groups in low rank coal is more obvious.
