1. Successfully developed a rapid heating method for initiating single cell thermal runway for cell, module, pack and vehicle level testing. 2. Single Cell Thermal Propagation was successful without the addition of significant energy to adjacent cells or complex mechanical set-ups within whole EV packs. 3. Propagation time is highly dependent on module and pack design. 4. More research is required 5. The NRC is looking for opportunities to collaborate with industry on various innovative technologies for minimizing the dangers of thermal runaway reactions within battery packs.
