We have identified key endocytic, proliferative, and stress-responsive pathways activated by these nanomaterials, enabling further development for use in biomedical applications, such as biomolecule delivery or induction agents for regenerative medicine. RNA-seq enabled direct interrogation into complex and relevant processes corresponding to cell health. Additionally, this technology identified potential regenerative applications for nanosilicates and potential routes of biochemical stimulation. Future studies will aim to aptly demonstrate the relationship between MAPK. activation and downstream differentiation through chemical inhibition studies. Due to the multi-phenotype capabilities of these particles, local cellular environments will be optimized to achieve more robust differentiation into a targeted lineage.
