Chitosan/Poly(lactide) Drug-Loaded Nanoparticles for Delivery of Therapeutic Compounds

Drug-loaded CS/PLA NPs were successfully fabricated in this study. CS/PLA NP size was significantly larger than CS/PLA/Curcumin NPs, likely due to large NP clusters measured by the zetasizer. Cell viability was not negatively affected by NPs, indicating that these delivery vehicles would not be cytotoxic to normal cells. Ongoing work aims to investigate the efficacy of these NPs as anticancer therapeutics in vitro.
