A tailorable matrix stiffness, and cell-matrix adhesion potential, is achieved by developing composite hydrogels of alginate and gelatin. These hydrogels are highly bioprintable, biocompatible, and provide a large spectrum of selections to build complex 3D in vitro biosystems that can facilitate the understanding of cancer progression as well as provide tools for drug development.
