摘要

There is growing concern regarding the emission of pollutants from flares. This work performed a 2-D CFD simulation on a real ground flare in Shanghai to predict the pollutant dispersion. The smoke plume movement was captured and found to play an important role in conjunction with wind field on the distributions of NO_2, NO and CO. The toxic CO could be carried down to the ground resulting in poisoning. The concentration profiles of the pollutants and temperature distribution downwind of the flare were also plotted to determine the best locations for taking and monitoring field measurements. The validation of simulation by measured data will be conducted soon and hopefully will be presented at the conference.
